Ministry of the Word: Our Flesh on the Throne in Heaven

  • How important is ascension compared to the death and resurection?
  • Christ's resurrection is a pledge that how we are today is not how we will be in eternity.

1. We are raised with Christ

  • We can recognize that the character and importance of Christ's ascension is tied to the entirety of His work. There is a story; a narrative.
  • In Luke 24, Christ appears to his Disciples, and they wonder if He is a ghost; an apparition.
  • In John 21, Christ appears on the shore while they were fishing. No one dared ask Him who He was. He was different. Glorified.

2. We are seated with Christ in heaven

  • Christ still has a physical body.

3. The greatness of God's Grace

  • Christ's ascension reveals the greatness of His grace.
