Ministry of the Word: God teaches us to swear godly oaths
- We might look at this today and think it does not apply to us. Who takes oaths any more? Maybe in court as a witness only, right...?
1. He swears by His own name
- God makes it clear to us that the promises He has made are completely dependable.
- God's promises to us come with an oath God has sworn to us.
2. He wants us to swear by His name
- God wants our oaths to have meaning.
- God does not want us to lie to one another.
- God wants our oaths and vows to have meaning.
