1. God’s people are: Called to battle
- When Moses raised his hand and staff, Israel would be winning the battle, but when his hand fell, so too did Israel.
- The Amalekites did not fear the Israelites.
- The Amalekites were cursed by God.
2. God’s people are: Under the Banner
- God does not promise victory in every battle.
- God does promise a path to salvation.
- During the battle Moses was too weak to stand. He has to be helped. Moses was clearly not the saviour.
