Ministry of the Word: In our speaking to or about our neighbour we must always show love
1. Words have power
- God created all that we see by speaking.
- Jesus preached his message with words.
- The words that we say to one another have power.
- The way that we speak about our neighbours can influence how others treat them.
2. Words can abuse
- Be careful what you say. You may not even realize the damage you cause.
- Think before you speak.
- Stop speaking if you think you are going to say something harmful.
- Ultimately, the words we say will come back to us.
- The silent treatment can harm psychologically.
3. Words may be redeemed
- The power of the Bible is in the words it uses to spread God's message.
- Jesus was called the Word.
