Ministry of the Word: Christ washed his disciples' feet as an example of Christian love. Our Lord washed:
- Why should I pick up someone else's garbage?
- Why should I leave the church pew as clean or cleaner than when I arrived?
- To show love for Jesus! The world will know you are a servant and follower of Christ when you have a similar attitude to Jesus.
1. His servants' feet
- The sin of pride is what causes us to not clean up after others.
- The disciples were embarrassed that Jesus wanted to wash their feet.
- Peter wanted no part of embarrassing Christ.
- Jesus showed Peter that if he was too proud and too hung up on social rules, that Peter could have no part in the Kingdom of Christ.

2. His betrayer's feet
- Jesus knew Judas would betray him, fulfilling the scriptures (note: but what of Matthew 19:28 that speak of the 12 disciples, including Judas, serving as judges over the 12 tribes of Israel?).
- There was still time for Judas to choose the right path.

- If you make something hard for other people in any way, you make it harder for them to accept Christ.
