Ministry of the Word: Those redeemed by Christ walk in the Spirit of Christ
- Are good works necessary for salvation? No! We are saved by grace alone.
- Romans 3: 21-28. We are justified by faith alone.
- So then why must we do good works? How can we be saved only faith, through grace, but then also be required to do good works?
- Good works are necessary. Good works do not function are a path to salvation. They are done out of love for God.
- Our nature as an image of God is to want to do good, to live a good life. Trying to live a good life and trying to do good works is our way of showing that we love God and aspire to a better life.
- It is impossible for our hearts to be turned to God and seeking salvation, but to not want to do good works. Doing (trying to do!) good works is a sign of faith.
