Ministry of the Word: The 3-Fold Office of Christ, Part 3: Our Eternal King

  • Psalm 72 offers a prayer to God. It is a prayer for justice, a prayer for blessings, but a prayer about the Glory of God.
  • However, we see that the reign of Solomon ends with Solomon loosing touch with God. This is a cautionary tale for us; we see that the great wisdom, wealth, and blessings given to Solomon caused him to stray.
  • The blessings of God will not come from Solomon, but from another son of David, further down the line.
