  • Ministry of the Word: Our God wants to have a conversation with his covenant people
    1. The two sides of the conversation
    • Relationships fail without communication.
    • The third side of the conversation is our mediator; Jesus Christ.
    • Our almightly, holy, perfect God wants to have conversations with us, his sinful, unholy, imperfect people.
    • The Bible is God's side of the conversation.
    • Prayer to God is our side of the conversation.
    1. The two results of the conversation
    • Spiritual transformation and spiritual healing.
    • God can change the course of our lives.
    • Prayer has power because God gives it power. This is a mystery that we do not understand.
    • God will work through us to serve his plan.
    • God is never deaf to our plight; He wants to hear us come to Him for help.
    • God's word promises us that he will always hear our prayers, but his word does not promise us that he will answer our prayer in exactly the way we want, or the way that we think is best.
